Accident at ‘no stop sign’ intersection

A Kia Picanto crashed into a resident’s wall on Charl Cilliers and 14th Avenue this morning, (Friday, July 11) in an accident that occurred just before 8am.

The intersection is said to have no stop sign.

According to EMPD media liaison officer Vusi Mabanga, the driver of the Kia claims that the other driver involved in the accident did not stop at the intersection.

“The driver allegedly crashed into the wall while trying to avoid the other vehicle. One person was injured but is not in a critical condition,” explains Mabanga.

A resident complained to the Advertiser that the intersection has no road signs, and this is creating an accident zone.
