The foetus was allegedly seven-months-old.
Investigating officer from the station, W/O Dan Mahlangu, says he is investigating a tip-off implicating the woman who is allegedly responsible for the crime.
“I will question the woman, but from my investigation, there is not enough evidence linking the woman to the crime,” explains Mahlangu.
Mahlangu says police are still in search of the mother responsible for the crime.
The foetus was discovered by a Lesego Ntsana (28) in a bag at around 08.25am on the day.
At the time of the incident, police said that the mother could only be charged with concealment of birth, and not murder, as there is no proof that the foetus was born alive.
Mahlangu has urged residents to come forward with any information that can assist police in the investigation.
“The public should please let us know if they know of any woman who was pregnant but who now doesn’t have a baby to show for the pregnancy, with no explanation,” urges Mahlangu.
