Acting metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe says the specialised switch that controls the streetlights is designed to automatically fail in the on position.
“The problem is there are a few that have failed in the Boksburg area.
“We are experiencing a challenge in sourcing these switches, but will start replacing the faulty units as soon as we have obtained them,” says Gadebe.
