Phenomenal Fargo series launches on M-Net
M-Net has secured the rights to screen the 10-part TV series Fargo and has changed its Thursday night line-up, as from Thursday May 1, to accommodate this phenomenal new international hit.
The television offspring of the Academy Award-winning Coen brothers film, the show first hit American screens less than two weeks ago, generating rave reviews from the critics.
“It’s M-Net’s mission to bring our viewers the best of the best from Hollywood as quickly as possible – and having Fargo so soon after its US debut is a big coup for us,” says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard.
“However, viewers should keep in mind that because of this late introduction, the M-Net Thursday night schedule will be incorrect in publications that had gone to print before the scheduling change was made. Please continue to consult the M-Net website or the EPG for the latest M-Net line-ups.”
Fargo is replacing NCIS: Los Angeles on Thursday nights at 9.30pm. It will be followed by The Blacklist at 10.30pm and CSI at 11.30pm.
Leading the cast is Oscar-winner Billy-Bob Thornton, who stars as Lorne Malvo, a ruthless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of small town insurance salesman, Lester Nygaard, played by BAFTA Award-winner and Emmy-nominated Martin Freeman.
Colin Hanks plays Duluth Police Deputy “Gus Grimly”, a single dad who must choose between his own personal safety and his duty as a policeman when he comes face-to-face with a killer.
Allison Tolman also stars as “Molly Solverson”, an ambitious Bemidji deputy.
Fargo is written and executive produced by Noah Hawley.
