Roadworks complete; damages can be claimed

The metro says the unfinished roadworks near the corner of Van Dyk and Resevoir streets, in Boksburg, have finally been completed.

This follows a complaint by a motorist that there are apparently no warning signs or any traffic cones to indicate roadworks ahead, and this has caused damage to his vehicle.

Acting metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe says claims for any damages caused can be submitted to the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s Insurance section for consideration.

Motorists can claim for damages caused to their vehicles by potholes and other obstructions, which are as result of negligence by the municipality.

There is a public liability form, which is available from the Customer Relations Agents’ office at the Customer Care Centre. Motorists are to fill in and return the form for claims. Contact 011 999 4143 for more information.
