According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, the man borrows the equipment under the pretence that he has just moved to the neighbourhood and needs to make some alterations to his home.
“The man has been operating in the Boksburg North, West and Witfield areas,” she says.
Coetzer says that the man is tall, athletically built with shaved dark hair and tattoos on both his forearms below his elbows.
“He speaks mostly English but can speak Afrikaans.”
