According to Dawn Park police spokesperson Capt Charles Tshabalala, two customers were fighting when the tavern owner intervened.
“At about 11pm on Saturday night, the owner tried stopping a physical altercation between two customers in the yard of his tavern. After failing to separate the two, he took his firearm and shot one of the men in his leg,” says Tshabalala.
Tshabalala says the wounded man was taken to hospital and has opened a case against the tavern owner.
