Focus on Education Project brings community together

A request for a much-needed camera turned into a fresh new coat of paint, beautiful curtains, two days of talented sports photography and an array of pictures to mark an wonderful event.

Hansa Photography, owned by local Boksburg photographer, Mikail Hansa, brought smiles to hundreds of learners and educators at Liverpool Secondary School, Actonville, recently.

When Liverpool Secondary School approached the Focus on Education Project for a new camera, little did they know what massive contribution Hansa Photography would bring to their school.

Upon invitation to the school, during a walkabout with management members, Hansa noticed that some of the classrooms were in need of some serious attention.

He took it upon himself to initiate an extreme makeover – Hansa edition.

Shave, Paint and Décor store sponsored the paint, and Kalan Hira, sa dress fabrics and novelty curtain fabrics store, donated the curtains.

On completion of the makeover, luck had it for Liverpool Secondary School that Hansa was there during their athletics training.

Being an enthusiastic sportsman himself, he offered to sponsor the photography for the two days: Off-field events and track events.

Hansa Photography has a long-standing firm conviction that helping others in the simplest of ways has the power to transform lives.

“It’s about paying it forward” said Hansa.

“If we all lend a helping hand, once in a while, imagine the positive impact we could make in our learners, the leaders of tomorrow.”

The Focus on Education Project is aiming to make a significant impact in the lives of learners throughout the country and in time, neighbouring countries.

It doesn’t stop there, however.

On taking the photographs of the sports, the demand for the pictures was so high, Hansa involved Shereno printers who sponsored the printing of the pictures.
