Boy shot during protest discharged from hospital

The Grade 12 student, Ntandazo Ngxingweni, had to undergo surgery after sustaining injuries to his forehead, when he was allegedly hit by a rubber bullet fired by the police during the protest.

According to his mother, Xoliswa Ngxingweni, her son had left the hospital on Monday, March 3.

“The doctor told us that although his recovery has been good, Ntandazo is not yet back to his normal health condition, We have been instructed that he must not go to school until further notice,” explains Xoliswa.

Xoliswa says doctors confirmed that he was hit by a rubber bullet.

She is considering taking legal actions against the police officers responsible.
