A wooly Valentine’s Day

As a gesture of love on Valentine’s Day, the Wool Centre donated wool, knitting needles, material and crochet thread, to the Witfield Park Retirement Centre.

The donation will be given to the centre’s knitting group, who knit up scarvess, beanies, bed socks and blankets for various charity organisations.

The knitting group meets every Thursday, at 1.30pm, and all are welcome to join.

“The elderly ladies appreciate the donations, as it is what keeps them knitting,” says Marita van der Walt, the lifestyle consultant for the Witfield Park Retirement Centre.

She says charity organisations such as St Francis are identified just before the winter season, and are then given the woolen goodies.

Elizabeth Evans, who is the owner of the Wool Centre, thanks all the customers who donated their left-over wool or bought wool for the centre.
