Policeman suspected of killing officer captured

The Reiger Park officer suspected of stabbing a policewoman, was captured after a nationwide manhunt.

He is detained at the Germiston police station, and the case is being handled by the SAPS’s Organised Crime Unit.

The suspect killer was arrested while exiting his dwelling place in Pretoria, on Wednesday, February 5.

The arrest comes after he had spent less than three days on the run.

The policeman is accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend Const Cynthia Monkwe, on Monday, February 3.

Following the crime, he allegedly fled the scene in Mokwe’s vehicle.

It appears he drove towards Heidelberg, before the vehicle ran out of petrol, and he dumped it on the side of N3 freeway, where it was later discovered.

A passerby found Monkwe lying on the ground, covered with blood outside her place of residence in Ramaphosa.
