Community liable for injury to pet

Ian McLauchlan writes:

Despite the Atlasville Organisation’s warm wishes and polite request not to ignite fireworks, it sounded like a war zone in Atlasville.

It is with great disappointment that we always seem to get ignorant people who have no consideration for our animals.

I write to inform the committee to please ask the inconsiderate people in our area, who were lighting up fireworks, to now dig into their pockets and refund me R1 589.90 for the bill I paid for my Staffie, that got a massive cut on his back leg.

My dog had to undergo an emergency operation.

With all the noise from the fireworks he was so scared he tried to jump the wall, resulting in this terrible injury.

To add to this, I will now have to make a number of revisits to the vet to re-dress his wound, and this will cost me again!

This unfortunate event happened thanks to the ignorant people igniting their fireworks, which resulted in our dog completely freaking out.

We are very disappointed, and our community should know better!

My dog is in a tremendous amount of pain.
