According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, the complainant was working as a cashier at Jumbo Liquor store when he noticed a customer taking a bottle of liquor.
She adds that the customer walked past the pay points and started running away.
“The complainant ran after the suspect down Cason Road and the suspect got into a black Volkswagen Golf.
“They drove away with the complainant trying to hang onto the suspect,” she says.
Lieut Coetzer adds that the suspect overpowered the complainant and he fell out of the motor vehicle.
“Boksburg North SAPS members arrived on scene and persued the suspect in the Golf. After a while the suspects, all four, were arrested and brought to Boksburg North SAPS.”
