A big thank you to St Francis volunteers

St Francis Care Centre hosted a tea for volunteers as a gesture of thanks to the volunteers, who throughout the year, volunteered their time and service to the centre.

The event, which was held on Saturday afternoon, November 30, kicked off with a musical item by the children of the centre.

This was then followed by Pam van Niekerk giving a talk on how to be successful and happy in life as well as to how to fulfil your duties as a wife or husband in your family.

“Every time I get invited to come here, I’m very humble by the love that you have, I’m very aware of the sacrifices that you make to improve the lives of others. God must be sitting there smiling and feeling so grateful to you for helping the little ones who have nothing,” said van Niekerk,

“Regarding husbands, you have to always love your wife, your children and your marriage.”

In essence, what van Niekerk said was that if you love your spouse, children and your marriage then no circumstances will ever make you consider to walk away or to end the marriage.

“You must always have the courage and stand up tall, even if your bank balance is tiny.

“When your heart is breaking and you have nothing left to support your children, then trust God, for He is enough and will provide.”
