Brandon Mabuza says: “I believe that if the lady hunted and killed the king of the jungle legally, then there was no harm done.”

Peter Barrett: “I was absolutely disgusted with the act. I am for controlled hunting and against trophy hunting.”

Michael Supra: “I don’t have a problem with hunting in general, but I’m against the killing of the lion and posting of the picture on social networks. Killing the lion also harms the country’s big five.”

Beryl Skirrow: “l believe that people from outside the country should not be allowed to kill our animals. The act was absolutely disgusting and more should be done to protect animals if we consider the high rate of rhino and elephant poaching.”

Alison Zulu: “It is not wrong if she received permission to do so.”

Lionel Strydom: Strydom has a neutral perspective on the matter. “If you ban international hunters from coming to our shores, people will lose their jobs. Controlled hunting would help prevent the latest incident. However, I’m also against the uploading of the picture depicting the hunter and the dead beast – it is insensitive.”

Russell Westray: “I simple don’t like the killing of animals.”
