Women zumba for charity
An impressive Zumbathon for charity was held by Hirsch’s Boksburg on Saturday morning, November 16.
The morning’s festivities were dedicated to the women of the House of Hadassah, a non-profit, Christian-based organisation situated in Boksburg.
It is dedicated to helping underprivileged girls who have already been in children’s homes, and have no visible means of support for further tertiary education.
House of Hadassah strives to make a difference in the lives of these young women, once they have a school-leaving certificat,e and before they can re-enter an all-too-familiar cycle of poverty and adverse, abusive circumstances.
By equipping them with spiritual, emotional, physical, financial and job-related skills, they are able to launch out confidently into adulthood with solid foundations and a vision for a better future.

The aim is to create hope and opportunity, where their future does not depend on their past.
Martie Spangenberg, an independent Zumbathon instructor, lead the vibrant and energetic Zumba group, who were all very supportive of the cause.
All the women who participated donated cosmetics, bags and toiletries to the charity.
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) was also present, and managed to obtain 12 units of blood.
