According to Vusi Mabanga, spokesperson for the EMPD, 18 fines were issued for registration and licensing contraventions.
He adds that 147 fines were issued for moving violations and a further 90 fines for parking and stopping offences.
“Some 13 fines were issued to special motorists, for driving without their Professional Drivers Permits (PRDP).”
Mabanga says that 59 motorists were fined for driving while talking on their cellphones without a hands free kit.
There were 16 accidents in the area, of which one resulted in serious injuries and the remainder where only damages occurred.
