
* Bhekumuzi Mbata (40), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of rape of a minor.
He pleaded not-guilty on August 26, was found guilty on September 2, and sentenced on November 1 to life imprisonment.
On March 3, the accused raped a 10-year-old girl, who sustained several internal injuries.
He had a previous conviction of rape from January 1991.

* Tebuo Musi (22), from Villa Lisa, appeared in court on a charge of rape.
He pleaded not-guilty on October 9, was found guilty and sentenced on November 4, to seven years imprisonment.
On February 9 the accused raped a 22-year-old woman.
He had previous convictions of house break-in from June 2004, kidnapping and assault from May 2010, and possession of drugs from March 2011.

* Alfred Leboho (58), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on charges of attempted murder, malicious injury to property, discharging a firearm in public and handling a firearm while intoxicated.
He pleaded guilty, was found guilty on August 19, and sentenced on November 6 to five years imprisonment for attempted murder and 12 months for the remaining charges. He was also found unfit to possess a firearm.
On June 27, the accused attempted to murder Steven Mbilibili by shooting him, he also damaged a motor vehicle when discharging the firearm in a built up area while he was under the influence of alcohol.
He had previous convictions of possession of an unlicenced firearm from September 2004, driving while under the influence of alcohol from September 2004, reckless and negligent driving from May 1995, rape from 2004, and attempted murder from July 1994.

* Sbusiso Mahlasti, from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of robbery.
He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on November 4, to two years imprisonment.
On September 29, the accused, with force, took a Blackberry cellphone and car keys from Thapelo Mokoena.

* Refilwe Ngoato (28), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of house break-in with the intent to steal.
He pleaded guilty and was found guilty on October 28, and sentenced on November 4, to 18 months imprisonment.
On October 4, the accused broke into the home of Zodwa Mchuchuand stole a gas container for a fridge.

* Thulani Khabanyane (18), with no fixed address, appeared in court on a charge of attempted robbery.
He pleaded guilty, was found guilty on October 23, and sentenced on November 6, to 18 months imprisonment.
On October 11, the accused attempted to steal a cellphone from Nomfundo Thango.

n Tebogo Mokoena (45), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of theft.
He pleaded not-guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on November 6, to 12 months imprisonment suspended for five years on condition he repaid the complaint a sum of R750 by November 7.
On September 8, the accused stole R750 and a small bucket from Jamos Sibuyi.
He had a previous conviction of assault from February 2005.

* Vanensia Meyer (24) from Eldorado Park, appeared in court on a charge of theft.
She pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on November 1, to R2 000 or four months imprisonment.
On December 31, 2009, the accused stole lipgloss to the value of R30.99 from Pick n Pay.
She had previous convictions of theft from July 2007, January 2008, September 2008 and June 2009.
