Gran Turismo 6 races towards shelves
Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphony Digital Inc have announced that Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) will launch on December 6.
The bestselling GT franchise has a unique partnership with a number of leading automotive manufacturers, design houses and other leading global brands.
Design teams from Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Bertone, GM Design, Honda, Infiniti, Italdesign Giugiaro, Jordan Brand, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Nissan, Peugeot, SRT (Chrysler), Volkswagen and Zagato created concept models, giving a unique insight into the future of the automotive sector.
Their designs were then recreated as working cars for GT6.
The game will include cars such as the BMW Vision GT, an exclusive virtual concept derived from the BMW M genes.
Adrian van Hooydonk, senior vice-president BMW Group Design, says: “Gran Turismo and BMW share the mutual genes of enthusiasm for modern and classics cars.
“I have known the Gran Turismo series right from the beginning – the increased level of realism in visualisation and the authentic driving experience in Gran Turismo 6 is incredibly impressive.”
The game will also include the famous Bathurst circuit in Australia.
The track features for the first time in GT history.
GT features an impressive line-up of 33 locations, with 71 different layouts available in GT6.
