Vusi Mabanga, spokesperson for the EMPD, says that they arrested nine people for possession of narcotics, three for possession of stolen property, two illegal immigrants and one motorist for driving while intoxicated.
They issued 32 fines to motorists for driving without their card drivers’ licences.
A further 29 fines were issued for registration and licensing contraventions and two fines for parking and stopping offences.
Mabanga adds that 31 fines were issued for motorists driving without their Public Driving Permits, 90 fines for seat belts not being worn, nine for driving while using a cellphone and 21 fines for licence plates not being present.
There were 17 accidents in Boksburg during the past week, one of which resulted in serious injuries and the remainder in only damages.
