Wanted burglar arrested in Boksburg

A man was arrested after two members of the Boksburg North SAPS stopped and searched him and his friends in Witfield on October 17.

Boksburg North SAPS communications officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer, says Const Frans Ledwaba, along with other patrollers were at the time in Witfield Sector Three.

“When they noticed a suspicious vehicle they decided to stop it, search the people and the vehicle.

“The suspects came from Soweto and could not give the patrollers a valid reason for driving around in Witfield,” says Coetzer.

“Ledwaba escorted them to the Boksburg North police station and had them checked on the Mobile Connectivity Device (MCD) for any records.”

She says that after further investigation it was found that one of the men was wanted on charges of housebreak-in and theft in Primrose and Elsburg.

The suspect was arrested at the police station and held for further investigation.
