Donate used baby seats at mall
Road users are urged to donate their used car seats at the East Rand Mall as part of the Imperial and 94.7 Highveld Stereo Car Seats for Kids campaign on October 4.

The campaign is a 94.7 Highveld Stereo’s Breakfast Xpress and Imperial I-Pledge initiative aimed at highlighting child safety during National Transport Month.
“Being a dad to a little boy, my heart goes out to parents who cannot afford car seats for their kids,” says 94.7 Highveld Stereo’s Breakfast Xpress presenter, Darren Simpson.
“If you have a car seat that your child has outgrown or is not being used, I urge you to donate it.”
Recent statistics revealed by the Global Road Safety Partnership SA and the Road Safety Fund outline over 1.3-m motor vehicle fatalities every year.
Children who are not strapped into a car seat are at risk of being harmed or killed during an accident.
All collected car seats will be re-upholstered, safety checked and cleaned by non-profit organisation, Wheel Well, before distribution.
“Road safety is a key priority for Imperial where educating and empowering South African’s to behave responsibly is integral to our values and corporate responsibility,” says Niki Cronje, group marketing at Imperial I-Pledge.
“Our alignment with 94.7 Highveld Stereo brings this commitment to light and as a result, we strongly encourage all parents to be part of the change that we are trying to achieve and to make a difference to a child’s life.”
94.7 Highveld Stereo’s Altech Netstar Ground Patrol team will be stationed at the East Rand Mall, entrance four, where car seats can be dropped off from 7am until 4.30pm.
East Rand Mall is one of the four designated drop-off points but for more details on the collection points, visit www.highveld.co.za.
