Stars to shine at gala event

Abraham Kriel Childcare (AKC) will host their “Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”-themed Stars for Charity annual gala dinner and show, at the Theatre of Marcellus, at Emperors Palace, on October 1.

This promises to be a star-studded event, with 70 confirmed celebrities, from television stars to well-known rugby players, as well as a variety of performances, to keep guests entertained.

“Thanks to the generous support of the best loved South African celebrities, top companies and caring individuals, AKC has, for the past 111 years, been able to provide the most vulnerable children with the educational building blocks to create their futures,” says Annamart Viljoen, of AKC.

“AKC is now also in a position to offer the children an ‘Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ to replace their despair with beautiful, colourful dreams.”

The organisation provides residential care for more than 800 children, in 21 homes, and offers a wide variety of care models to children of all ages, who have many different needs and circumstances.

The care centre has a mission to protect, care, educate and treat children, in order for them to have a chance to become contributing members of society.

The evening will be complemented by a sumptuous, served dinner and fine wine, to lift the spirits.

Guests will also be treated to an unforgettable performance of songs from Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat, by the children from AKC’s various homes.
