Hotel beefs up security after robbery

The Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre has increased security measures after an international delegate was robbed on their premises on Sunday, September 15.

Lloyd Marshall, general manager of the Birchwood Hotel, confirmed that the delegate was robbed of his belongings and is suspected to have been followed from the airport to the hotel.

“The hotel has beefed up security as we realise that crime in the area has also increased,” says Marshall.

“We have put up security measures to try prevent this from happening again.”

The delegate was reimbursed for his stolen possessions, and will be staying at the hotel until the end of the week-long conference.
