This was during a business robbery at the shop, located at the Sunward Palm Shopping Centre.
The incident, which was captured on CCTV, happened at about 5.50pm on Sunday, September 8.
According to the shop manager, he was working at the shop when the three suspects, which he thought were customers, walked in.
“They quickly pulled handguns from their waistbands and one of them stuck his gun to my head, while demanding all the money from the tills and the safe,” says Wayne.
“The others pointed their firearms directly at the other employees of the shop, while ordering them to the ground. Then they forced me to open the cash register and the safe.
“The robber threatened to blow my head off if I refuse to give money, while screaming at the staff members not to make a sound.”
The robbers stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
After stealing the money, they forced the shop workers into a back storeroom, where they were ordered to lie on the floor.
The trio were spotted getting into a blue Peugeot without license plates, and drove off.
There were no customers at the shop during the robbery.
The shocking attack, which took about 10 minutes, left the shop workers feeling terrible.
“I got a shock when the robber held his gun to my head. I thought he was going to kill me,” Wayne says.
“I was really scared, and kept thinking about my family.”
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
The shop owner claims that it took the police a long time to arrive at the scene, and demands answers from the police management as to the delay.
Spokesperson for the Boksburg police Lieut Mathanda Ngobese says the police delayed response will be investigated, adding that the complainant has to contact the Boksburg Police Station and asked to speak to the community service centre manager.
Police are still hunting the armed robbers.
The gunmen were described as black males, dressed in black pants and jackets, two of them are thin and the third one is a well-built man.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boksburg SAPS on 011 841 6843/10111.
