Walk for Jesus becomes a popular event
Since the inception in 2010, the Walk for Jesus event appears to have grown immensely with hundreds of Ekurhuleni residents now gathering at EG Jansen every fourth month, with the most recent taking place on September 1.
Walk for Jesus has become a local popular event among Christians in the community.
According to the organiser of the event, Ronel Knipe, the walk has grown over the past few years and still continuous to grow, not only in the East Rand, but throughout South Africa and across national borders.
The walk appears to have attracted groups from ministries who have not only taken to the walk but appear to be dressed as cheerleaders for Jesus – carrying banners, dressed uniformly and singing and chanting as they walk through the streets of Boksburg.
The walk began and ended at Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen with participants walking 2km to the East Rand Mall singing songs of praise.
The next walk will be hosted on March 2, and all those who wish to participate may contact Ronel Knipe on 082 492 7702.
