CPF sets to achieve new goals

The chairperson of the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Herman Heunis, says the forum and the police have set out new aims for the Boksburg North CPF.

He believes the prospective future of the area is a positive one, and that through the new aims set out by the CPF, the only thing that is needed to reach their goals is the cooperation of the community.

According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, through the leadership of Heunis, the CPF is determined to promote a good relationship between the police and the community, as well as establish a good partnership between them.

“The CPF will also promote communication and cooperation between the two and, therefore, it will make joint problem identification easier,” says Coetzer.

It is Coetzer’s belief that by developing strong sector crime forums in all four sectors will strengthen and assist the sector managers in their tasks, as well as make it easier to combat crime.

“Maximum participation from the community is needed to help raise the awareness on safety and security among the community,” says Coetzer.

The CPF has plans to form street committees and the sector forums, as well as motivate neighbourhood watches to participate in all these events and to take part on a monthly basis.
